EMA - Emergency 911

Purpose

Emergency Management is the process of coordinating available resources to deal with emergencies effectively, thereby saving lives, avoiding injury, and minimizing economic loss.

Roles and Responsibilities

Day to day functions of Scott County Emergency Management are performed by the Director and Deputy Director. The office is located at the Scott Co Courthouse Basement.

Scott County Emergency Management assists public safety agencies in all types of disasters including natural, technological/man-made and national security emergencies. Scott County Ordinance establishes and defines the Scott County Emergency Management Agency to provide for all necessary and indispensable powers and procedures reasonably needed to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergency conditions.

Scott County Emergency Management is the sponsoring agency for the Scott County CERT Team. FEMA's Community Emergency Response Team Program trains volunteers to prepare for the types of disasters that their community may face.
